Hrithik Roshan and Preeti Zinta, had acted in few films together but whenever they had acted together they received good reviews. The had done well in the film Koi Mil Gaya, directed by Rakesh Roshan. The subjectmatter of the story was not new but rarely used in Indian films. Hrithik Roshan met an extraterrestrial body and acquired power. It helped him to reform himself and changed him from a handicapped background.
Preeti Zinta was considerate towards Hrithik during his early days in the film and understood his character. She also helped Hrithik Roshan in maintaining his relationship with the extra-terrestrial friends. The film was made mainly for children who enjoyed it more than others.
In Laksh, Hrithik and Preeti acted in a more serious story. Hrthik did not have any goal in life and he was confused. After schooling when his other friends decided about their careers Hrithik could not make up his mind. He even joined the army due to one of his friends taking the decision of joining the army. Preeti was a good friend of him and told him that every human being should have a goal in life otherwise life has not meaning. She became a journalist and covered news on different subjects.
Hrthik even returned back home after facing severe punishment in his Army Training school. But Preeti Send him back. During that time, the Kargil war broke out and Hrithik had to face Pakistani forces at the Line of Control.
He was guided by senior officers played by Big B and Om Puri. He took it as a challenge and created a goal of raising Indian flag at the peak of Siachen. He went with a group of 6 men out of which some of his friends died. Ultimately he succeeded in his mission.
In fact, both Hrithik and Preeti had other successful films and they never required each other for the overall success of their films. But whenever they acted together their understanding was reflected in their performance.
The viewers expect Hrithik and Preeti to act together in more films in the years to come.
