Ajay Devgan and Akshay Khanna were brilliant in their individual roles in the film Aakrosh. The film had depicted the political evils in the state of Bihar.

Both Akshay Khanna had been send by CBI to the state of Bihar to investigate on three murders which took place but there was no trace of the bodies and no clue as to who killed them. The two styles of performances of Akshay Khanna and Ajay Devgan had impressed the viewers. While Ajay Devgan displayed the Bihari style of violent style of performance, Akshay Khanna displayed his reserved and restrained style of performance.

Paresh Rawal, the police officer in the film was involved in all the three murders. He played his cruel character with witty demeanour. Bipasha Basu did well in the role of his wife.

Ajay Devgan had also showed his bravery in few encounters shown in the film. In one of them he sat on top of a jeep being driven by Akshay Khanna amidst jungles and rugged landscapes when he was looking for the body of Reema Sen. At the end they found that her tongue was cut by miscreants.

The film had been criticized by a section of the viewers for being too much filled with violence. But part of the violence was required to be depicted for unfolding the facts of the film. Internationally recognized director Govind Nihalini also faced questions relating to violence being depicted in his films Aakrosh, Ardha Satya, Drohkaal, Tamas at one point of time. But his excellent standard of casting and brilliant direction had overshadowed the violence depicted in the film.

Aakrosh had done good business from the time it had been released. These days action films and films full of violence are less liked by the audience. But whatever may be the fate of the box-office collections in respect of Aakrosh both Ajay Devgan and Akshay Khanna should be credited for their versatile performances in the film.
